Camp Y-Wood Set to Open on July 1

2012 Tributes
attendeesCamp Y-Wood is a beautiful, sprawling, 22-acre day camp located on Captain's Pond in nearby Salem, NH. With a sandy waterfront beach, open fields, wooded areas, 2 covered pavilions and a brand new Main Cabin, there is plenty of room for children to spread out and enjoy a real outdoor adventure. Activities include: swimming, boating, arts & nature crafts, sports, games, fishing, hiking and outdoor living and survival skills. Our open format allows each camper opportunities throughout the day to select activities that are of interest to them.

Support the YWCA Campership Fund
Did you know that summer camp can hold the key to stemming summer learning loss, helping to close the achievement gap for low-income youth? According to the Partnership for Children and Youth's Summer Matters Initiative, summer camp programs like Y-Wood which "emphasize developing soft skills - strengthening peer relationships and ties with adults and developing persistence - that shape students' motivation and self-confidence" yield long-term academic and social rewards.

A week of camp costs $165, including transportation, with financial aid available to those in need. Your gift of any amount will help assure that every child can afford the opportunities provided through the enrichment and wonder of summer camp.

Make a secure online donation or mail a check to:
YWCA GL, Attn: Campership Fund, 38 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01840.

Give Help
Your support helps us empower women to break the cycle of domestic violence and poverty, take better care of themselves and have access to work programs that help them look toward the future with hope and promise versus despair and anguish. Your support also enables us to provide guidance, promote literacy and educational goals to children.    Please consider investing in the wonderful work of the YW and make a difference in the life of a woman or child.

By making your tax deductible donation – in any amount - you will be making a difference in the lives of those in our community.
